This work’s connecting thread is modeling porcelain in association with textile fibers, printed or soaked in the clay. The wefts dress up each piece of work, with a raised design and a story that stand out when light plays with the translucent quality of porcelain.
This clay, white and pure, perfectly reproduces the texture of fabrics and laces. A touch of color sometimes emphasizes the patterns, in order to lighten the shade of white. Tinted in grey, porcelain becomes deeper while keeping its delicate grain.
The search for lightness, or even weightlessness, results in pieces of work thinly modeled, sometimes placed in unsteadiness, as a fly off.
Descended from a feminine universe, between sewing and plant, this work is a tribute to ladies needles handiworks, modest or sublime creations of many generations of women.
